SongSmith Gathering 2010 in Brevard NC
Looking Glass Entertainment, LLC in association with SAFE, Inc announces the inaugural Songsmith Gathering, An Evening of Song on June 19, 2010 starting at 7:30 pm at the Porter Center for Performing Arts. The gathering will have a prelude starting at 12:00 noon in the amphitheater adjacent to the Porter Center with the Whimsical Art Sale.
Tickets $20 in advance available on-line, Rockin Robin Records and SAFE’s Attic. Tickets at the door are $25.
The event features dynamic and prolific songwriters Shannon Whitworth and the Refugees, Beth Wood, Nikki Talley and Julie Lee and will benefit SAFE, Inc, a non-profit offering programs and services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
The combined resume’ of these four women is plainly impressive, all having featured appearances at festivals such as Mountain Song Festival, Merlefest, Kerrville Folk Festival, Lake Eden Arts Festival and many others. They are also known for writing songs that have been recorded by Alison Krauss and Pam Tillis as well as tunes featured on popular TV shows.
