Brevard is located in Western North Carolina nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Brevard in Transylvania County, has over 250 waterfalls and is fondly referred to “Land of the Waterfalls”. Having not only 150 year old Brevard College, we also have Blue Ridge Community College, and our secondary school system is routinely rated as one of the top school systems in North Carolina. Because over 49% of our land mass is State and National Forest we are also home to over 22 camps which includes the world renowned Brevard Music Center.
Adding to the unique beauty of our area are our “White” squirrels. Yes that is correct, we have a special breed of squirrel being completely white residing in our area. In fact if you happen in North Carolina over Memorial Day Weekend – Join us for the White Squirrel Festival.
Truly some of the best aspects about our town is our friendly people, vital down town area, high rate of volunteerism, and just plain hospitality!
