Sarah Hysong is the owner and Broker of Connestee Falls Realty. A Brevard, NC native, Sarah began her career in corporate finance and planning; a background that helps her bring endless local expertise and financial savvy to every showing. Supporting communities and building lasting relationships are close to her heart — and ensures her team of Local Experts deliver the best customer service in Transylvania county.
Hi there! I am one of the few who had the pleasure of growing up with our state and national forests as my backyard. Wired to wander and explore new communities, I attended UNC-Wilmington after graduating from Brevard High School. I then moved to Charlotte, NC, and began my career with TIAA Financial Services. In 2013 I chose to leave the comforts of that job (and the United States) to serve two years with the Peace Corps in Moldova, Eastern Europe. While there, I assisted in the development of local infrastructure including youth leadership programs, civic education, and engagement, as well as new partnerships for public amenities. It was the hardest and most rewarding experience of my life.
In 2015, I returned home to plan my next adventure. Little did I know it was waiting for me here! While working as an agent for Connestee Falls Realty, I fell in love with Brevard all over again. Assisting buyers and sellers in all walks of life was just one of the many things that made real estate a natural fit for me. Helping them fall in love with our beautiful area was easy. In January 2020, I purchased the company and met my husband, Ben. We are happily married and live in the Connestee Falls community with our pup, Tito.

As is often the case, a house on Maple Street that I wanted to see was already under contract by the time I called. I was disappointed, but to my surprise sometime later Sarah contacted me saying that the deal was falling through and the house would be back on the market in a few days. Was I still interested? I was. We scheduled a viewing early on the first day it was back on the market and had it under contract that evening. And after that, things just got better. Sarah was very helpful, taking the lead in setting up inspections and taking care of all the details. Closing went smoothly and I was ready to move into my new home in a very short time. I’ve now been here for over a year and I love it. I’m grateful to Sarah for all her help and would highly recommend her to other home buyers (I have actually referred some friends to her already).

I had responded to a home listing on a realty website, and called Connestee Falls Realty, as they were the listing agency. Sarah Hysong answered the phone, and I immediately knew that she was going to be a pleasure to work with. From an initial interview of our preferences and desires to a day-long tour of approximately 15 homes in the Connestee Falls complex as well as in the town of Brevard, Sarah narrowed down the homes that she found to fit our needs. Sarah was open and honest about the homes we toured if she was the listing agent, and even showed us a few homes that were not even for sale at the time, but were due to be completed in the coming months. It was certainly not a difficult decision to purchase the home in Connestee Falls, the area speaks for itself. Sarah communicated by phone or text promptly, and coordinated everything for our closing. Since we are from out of state, and not moving in immediately after closing, Sarah has acted as the property manager and directed the installation of utilities, appliances and general oversight of the home until we could arrive. Sarah and Lynda Hysong even went out of their way to ensure that a car I had shipped down got delivered and put into the garage….at 10 PM on a Thursday night!
